Animals

Tibetian Yak are one of the few breeds of animal which are truely penta-purpose. Used for there milk, fiber, meat, pulling and riding abilities and even for their leather and horn yaks are the ulitmate animal on a self sustainable farm. All of our yak are registered through IYAK and we even have some that come from chewbacca lines, the gold standard in yak bloodlines. Barbant Horses are a type of draft horse that is a subclass of belgium horses. They can be used to pull any number of things including farm equipment, logs and wagons. Barbant horses are cold blood and good keepers which makes them ideal in our northern climates.

English Angora Rabbits have a wonderfully soft and luxurious fiber with a long staple length that is prized for spinning. Our staple length at arielle acres averages around 4" and is a dream to spin into a light weight yarn that can be used in lightweight garmets that need to be soft and extremely warm. Some of the most common applications for angora yarn is for light weight unerwear worn by mountain climbers to be able to survive even the harshest of conditions.

Icelandic Sheep are a tri pirpose breed producing milk, fiber and meat. Their milk is wonderful for the artisian cheese maker and their fiber is used to make the famous Lopi yarn which produce the beautiful intricate colorwork sweater from iceland. At arielle acres heritage breeds are our specialtiy and our poultry is no exception. We have a wonderful array of chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, quail, partridge and even peacock. All of our birds are free range, never cooped and roam our 520 acres in peace which makes beautiful feathers and excelent tasting eggs. We sell eggs, feather and sometimes even birds.
