Icelandic Sheep

Icelandic sheep are a tripurpose breed from Iceland where the winters are harsh and grain is scarce. This makes them a wonderful choice for grassfed operations that live in cold weather climates. They can be used for milk, fiber, meat and also sheep skin rugs as a byproduct of meat production. This breed can also carry the triplet gene even though twins and singles are more common.

Icelandic sheep are known for their famous fiber which produces "lopi" style yarn and is the sole sources of authentic Icelandic sweaters.
