First Seedlings of the Year

Our first seedlings emerged from our heirloom tomatoes yesterday which can be seen below. all are planted on soil blocks one of the most economical and efficient ways to start seed. They are kept on heat mats and watered only every couple of days at this point. They have a solid tray, wool mat(to dispute moisture and water evenly), a tray with holes which keeps soil blocks off of the wool mat while allowing them to absorb moisture, soil blocks, and a tray lid. Our set up is completely reusable every year and they only things we need to re[lace are seed quality soil and seeds.

Seedlings in tray 3 which can be seen above include Turkish Striped Monastery, Violet Jasper, Striped Roman, Vintage Wine, Peppermint, Morning Sun, Yellow Pear, Roma Candle, Yellow Brandywine, and Pilcer Vesy.

Seedlings in tray 4 which can be seen above include orange icicle, Juane Flamme, golden Sunray, woodle orange, Kellogg's Breakfast, Tsungshigo Chinese, Nyagous, Purple, Russian, Paul Robeson, Golova Negra.
